A&E Network announced today a new original real-life series, "Bob Saget's Strange Days," (working title) which busts down barriers to investigate some of America's most fascinating and mysterious worlds. Documenting his journey around America, Saget immerses himself in different unusual cultures from the world of mail-order brides to joining a survivalist cult prepping for the end of the world to rushing a fraternity. The series is currently in production on seven one-hour episode slated for premiere in 2010.

"Bob Saget has been a part of the television landscape for years, but now we'll be seeing him in a completely different light as he travels the country to explore ways of living that most of us know nothing about," said Robert Sharenow, Senior Vice President, Nonfiction and Alternative Programming, A&E. "The show will reveal hidden corners of the real America and the real Bob Saget, who is even funnier and more relatable when just being himself than any other role he's ever played."

Best known for his roles as the loveable Danny Tanner in "Full House," the host of "America's Funniest Home Videos" and for his hilarious stand-up comedy routines, Bob Saget definitely has a unique view of the world. His unflinching observations about offbeat people and lifestyles in his stage performances have sparked him to take a more in-depth, hands-on investigation of this subject matter. He'll go from the back of a Harley with a biker gang, to prepping for the end of civilization with a secretive survivalist group, to living with a group of partying Amish teenagers before they decide on whether or not they'll commit to be baptized as Amish adults, to submerging himself in the world of mail order brides.

"Bob Saget's Strange Days" will enable viewers to get an insightful understanding of what makes individuals tick in these alternative lifestyles and daring situations. Bob will also uncover the humanity and the shared values inside all of these odd and absurd situations that each of us will be able to relate to.

"Bob Saget's Strange Days" (working title) is produced for A&E Network by Tijuana Entertainment ("Obsessed," "The Two Coreys") and Brillstein Entertainment Partners. Executive producers for Tijuana are Troy Searer and John Foy. Peter Traugott will executive produce for Brillstein Entertainment Partners. Bob Saget will also serve as executive producer. Executive producers for A&E are Robert Sharenow and Scott Lonker.

  • A&E's "Intervention" and "Hoarders" Return for New Seasons

A&E's 2009 Emmy® Award-winner for Outstanding Reality Program "Intervention" and critically acclaimed "Hoarders" return for all-new seasons with back-to-back premieres on Monday, November 30th at 9:00 PM ET/PT and 10:00PM ET/PT.

The eighth season premiere of "Intervention," features Linda, who after graduating from college found success working as an extra in Hollywood, achieving the glamorous life she always wanted. Linda's dreams died when she came down with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, a rare disorder characterized by joint dislocations. Linda started taking Fentanyl, a painkiller 100 times stronger than morphine. As her painkiller use escalated, she claimed that different sources were causing her pain, including electricity, energy, colors, and even specific people. Despite Linda's wild claims, her mother clings to the belief that Linda's pain is real and she must do everything to help her, including depleting the family's savings and sending her son to be Linda's caretaker.

"Intervention" is a powerful and gripping series in which people confront their darkest demons and seek a route to redemption. The Emmy® and five-time PRISM Award-winning series profiles people whose dependence on drugs and alcohol or other compulsive behavior has brought them to a point of personal crisis and estranged them from their friends and loved ones. Each episode ends with a surprise intervention that is staged by the family and friends of the addict, and which is conducted by one of two specialists: Jeff Van Vonderen and Candy Finningan. Exclusive updated interviews with past subjects from the series first seven seasons are available on AETV.com/intervention.

The series has conducted 143 interventions since its premiere in March of 2005, 111 individuals are currently sober.

The second season premiere of "Hoarders," the number one freshman non-fiction series on cable among adults 25-54, will introduce Augustine, whose son Jason was removed from her home by Child Protective Services 14 years ago, because of her hoarding. She was never able to clean up enough to have him return. Now, as an adult living on the other side of the country, he is filled with shame and resentment, but unable to turn his back on her. Augustine's hoarding has become so severe that she has lived without water, gas, heat or appliances for the last four years -- bathing only once a week at her sister's house. Complaints from neighbors have instigated a court ordered clean-up and the city is threatening to condemn her house. Now, "Hoarders" follows Jason as he tries one last time to rescue his mother from the filth he escaped from years ago.

"Hoarders" explores the world of extreme hoarding; a mental disorder marked by an obsessive need to collect things, even if the items are worthless, hazardous or unsanitary. The series takes a fascinating look at the lives of people whose inability to part with their belongings is so out of control that they are on the verge of a personal crisis. Whether they're facing eviction, the loss of their children, jail time, or divorce, they are all desperately in need of help. The series captures the drama as experts work to put each hoarder on the road to recovery.

Inspired by the incredible response from viewers, individuals and families in recovery to "Intervention," A&E Network along with leading federal agencies and non-profit organizations launched The Recovery Project. The multi-year, multi-platform initiative was designed to help raise awareness that addiction is a treatable disease and recovery is possible. This past September more than 10,000 people, including individuals and families in recovery, treatment partners and advocates from all 50 states and the District of Columbia, gathered in New York City for a historic walk across the Brooklyn Bridge to symbolize unity and hope for recovery. The walk ended in Cadman Plaza and was followed by a rally featuring public speakers and a performance by Smokey Robinson.

A&E continues to co-host, along with the Partnership for a Drug Free America (PDFA), and leading MSOs such as Time Warner Cable, Cox and Comcast, Intervention Town Hall meetings in cities across the country. The Town Hall meetings offer opportunities for parents, teens, addicts, government officials, health professionals, substance abuse prevention experts and educators to develop a better understanding about the root causes and consequences of addiction.

"Intervention" is produced for A&E Network by GRB. Executive Producers are Dan Partland and Sam Mettler. A&E Executive Producers are Robert Sharenow and Colleen Conway.

"Hoarders" is produced for A&E by Screaming Flea Productions. Executive Producers are Jodi Flynn, Matt Chan and Dave Severson. A&E Executive Producers are Robert Sharenow and Andy Berg.

  • Meet the Paranormal Cops

Paranormal enthusiasts are excited for the upcoming A&E Real Life series Paranormal Cops. Here's a first look at the investigators that make up the Chicago Paranormal Detectives.

    Ron Fabiani - Investigator

Ron is known as 'Fabs,' the powerhouse of the team. He is often seen with a cigar dangling from his lips. He is fluent in Chicago lingo. Fabs believes that if something happens to defy logic, something else may be taking place. Ron has been a police officer in the Chicagoland area since 1987.

    Tom Froelich - Investigator

Tom has been in law enforcement in Chicagoland since 1990. Throughout his police career, Tom has been assigned within his agency as a patrol and tactical officer. He has also taught children DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) and GREAT (Gang Resistance Education). In addition, Tom has worked as a Crime Prevention Officer helping residents reduce the opportunity for crime to occur. Tom is currently assigned as a Criminal Investigator.

    Austin Weinstock - Investigator

Austin has been in Law Enforcement since 2005. To date, Austin's duties have included uniformed patrol, tactical patrol assignments, continuing education for children and other special assignments relative to resistance of gang crimes and narcotics. Austin's interest in law enforcement began as he watched his father and brother (also experienced police officers) as they worked criminal and civil cases with "Weinstock Investigations," a family owned and operated business. This is where Austin learned the reliable, professional, objective and "call it like you see it" approach to investigations. Austin feels every claim and statement demands evidence.

    Pete Schlelich - Investigator

Pete is the skeptic of the group. He is a blunt and "prove it to me" kind of guy. You always know exactly where you stand with Pete. It's difficult to get him worked up. Pete has been in law enforcement since 2003. He works within the patrol division and has been trained as an evidence technician with experience in forensics for the most accurate processing of crime scenes.

    Moriah Rhame - Medium

Moriah is the medium of the group and the only female team member. She is a kidder and knows how to hang with the boys. She is a dedicated member of the team and she is able to give insight into paranormal activity that might not otherwise be known. Moriah is not your average medium and is a Desert Shield/Operation Desert Storm combat veteran who served with the 13th Evacuation Hospital, 32nd Medical Brigade under 7th Corps, located 40 kilometers from the border of Kuwait in Saudi Arabia.

    Brian Jones - Investigative Assistant

Brian is the calm and reserved crew member who throws great one-liners out of nowhere. He is very anxious to see or feel the paranormal, but is not sure what he will do when it happens. Brian became involved with the Chicago Paranormal Detectives through his friendship with fellow CPD investigator Tom Froelich.

    Scot Ziarko - Investigative Assistant

Scot is the team's video technical member. He is laid back and can be a bit of a devil's advocate, but wants to have a life changing paranormal experience. Scot has been a professional videographer and editor for 14 years.
